President Obama has said that the Constitution is a set of negative liberties, it says what the government cannot do. Then in the same breath he says "but it doesn't say what the government should or should not do for you, on your behalf." He's wrong. Fortunately, the Constitution clearly spells out how any language not in the Constitution is specifically banned from enforcement. How does he get around the limitations? Czars. (For more information, see our Czars page.) The Constitution is a set of restrictions on him and he doesn't like it. To be fair, what politician would? Who wants to have to go to work wearing a blindfold and a set of handcuffs? Still it is important to remember that the reason these restrictions are in place is because for some strange reason the founding fathers taught us that people can't trust government. Especially this one!
